Homemade Face Masks

Masks are applied in a thick layer to a clean face.The neck can be included,if desired.Most masks should not be applied near the eyes. If the mask begins to dry out before the recommended time,mist it to keep it moist.While the mask is on, ie down with your feet slightly raised and cover the eyes with water-moistened eye pads.

  • Honey mask (for all skin types)

    this mask increases circulation to the skin and will smooth,soften, and moistues.

    To Use : Warm 1 tablespoon of honey and apply to a clean face.Leave on for 15 minutes.Pat and press the honey to stimulate the skin.Rinse with warm water followed by a cool-water splash.

  • Clay Mask (for all skin types except dry and mature)

    To make : Mix 1 rounded tablespoon of a good facial-quality clay(available at natural food stores)with enough water or milk to make a smooth paste. Add a few drops of olive oil(or any vegitable oil), a few drops of vinegar, and a spoonful of honey.If this mixture is too runny, add a litle more clay.If it is too dry, add a little more ate or milk.

    To use: Apply to clean face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes.Rinse with warm water followed by a cool-water splash.

  • Simple Oatmeal Mask (for all skin types)

    To make: Cook either instant oatmeal or rolled oats according to manufactures` instructions. Allow to cool to a temprature that is slightly warm.

    to use: Apply to clean face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes.Rinse with warm water followed by a cool-water splash.

  • Milk And Honey Mask (for all skin types)

    To make: Mix 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon yogurt.Add powdered milk to thicken to a smooth paste.

    To use: Apply to clean face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes.Rinse with warm water followed by a cool-water splash.

  • Apple Mask(for normal to dry skin)

    To make: Thoroughly steam a peeled and cored apple. Mash and mix with a small amount of whole milk and honey.

    To use: Apply to clean face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes.Rinse with warm water followed by a cool-water splash.

  • Baking Soda Mask (for blemished skin)

    To make: Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with water to form a paste.

    To use: Apply to clean skin that is troubled with blemishes for 15 minutes.Rinse with cool water.

  • Clay Mask (for blemished skin)

    To make: Mix 1 heaping tabespoon of facial clay with enough water to form a paste. Add 1 drop of essential oil of cypress, 1 drop of lavender, and 1 drop of chamomile(Roman).

    To use: Apply to clean skin for 15 miutes.Rinse well with cool water.

  • Banana and Honey Mask (for normal to dry skin)

    To make: Mash together 1/2 ripe banana with 1 teaspoon honey.

    TO use: Apply to clean skin for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with a cool-water splash.
